The World Cup finally came alive in the second semi-final with an absolutely stunning performance from Spain.
After a slow start, they've certainly taken their time in getting going but I sat in dis-belief as Mark Lawrenson suggested Spain were over playing at times. For me, they were simply grinding the germans down with a sensational display of patient keep-ball and probably should have had two or three more.
Their passing, mobilty and work rate on and off the ball was as good as you'll ever see.
It seems unfair to pick any players out but Puyol and Pique were outstanding at the back and the midfield four covered every blade of grass.
I could watch Xavi for hours and I believe he's the best midfielder in the world at the moment.
ISM's players finished their tournaments strongly. Osman Chavez was man-of-the-match for Honduras in their final group game against Switzerland and will have benefited greatly from the whole experience.
David Carney is now also on holiday following Australia's early exit. He can be proud of the way he played against Ghana and particularly Serbia. He had a tough start to the Serbia game up against the excellent Milos Krasic but he grew in confidence and had a very good second half resulting in Krasic being substituted. Both players will be back in pre-season next week.
I feel the tournament in general has been a disappointment, not least because of England's poor form. However, Spain has restored my faith in why we love the beautiful game and my hope is they can go one step further on Sunday...
