Carney Completes Deadline Day Transfer
26-year old Australian International, David Carney has completed his deadline day transfer to Premier League club, Blackpool FC.

David moves from Dutch side, FC Twente where he collected an Eredivise division winners medal under Steve McClaren's management.

FC Twente have drawn Inter Milan, Werder Bremen and Tottenham in the Champions League draw but the lure of playing in the world's best league was too good to turn down for David.

David has played in the majority of the Australian national team's fixtures over the last three years and competed in this year's World Cup in South Africa. He is now looking forward to competing against some of the world's best players on a weekly basis.

On leaving for international duty in Switzerland on Wednesday, David said "I'm delighted now the deal has been completed. I started this season well in Holland and it was good to add the Dutch Super Cup to last season's title but once I knew there was an opportunity to play in the Premier League, I couldn't wait to get the deal done. I've spoken to the gaffer and I'm really excited at the prospect of playing for him. He loves to get it down and play in the right way and I think we will surprise a few people this season"

Blackpool's next two games are both away at Newcastle United and Chelsea.

Congratulations to David on the move and everyone at ISM wishes him a successful season.
