Asier has a very strong and determined personality who enforces his character on the game and is influential in his team.

He plays a commanding role in his penalty area and is more than willing to make tough decisions and is very brave in coming and collecting for crosses.

Asier is also capable with the ball at his feet and has no concerns dealing with back passes even whilst under pressure.

Asier has played a county international level for Basque Under-16's.
