  • Biography

Stuart is one of the most highly regarded players in the Hyundai A-League.

Born and raised in Newcastle (NSW), Stuart is a combative holding midfielder with excellent vision and distribution. He has been likened to Xabi Alonso and his performances in the 2008 Olympics against opponents such as Argentina, Serbia and Ivory Coast were a clear indication that Stuart has the ability to compete amongst top players.

His ability to assert himself and influence a game by quickly switching defensive situations into attacking positions has seen him achieve domestic success with his home-town club Newcastle Jets FC winning the A-League Grand Final in the 2007/8 season.

Stuart moved to Sydney FC in 2008 where he again achieved success domestically by being an integral part of the team that won the A-League Championship and A-League Grand Final in 2009/10.

Stuart was selected for the Australian national team squad to play Indonesia in March 2010 and although he didn't play, there is little doubt at ISM that Stuart will soon be having an impact at international level.
