Tom Brookes - Head of Football
Tom joined ISM from an Australian based sports management company in March 2009. Previously, Tom represented Sheffield United and FC Twente at youth level before his professional playing aspirations were cut short through a serious ankle injury. Whilst continuing to play at semi-professional level, Tom went on to study Business and joined Management Training Consultancy AMT International in 1994.
In 1999, Tom joined a leading UK private healthcare provider where he worked as a Management Consultant for six years. Whilst doing so, Tom maintained contact with his football networks and assisted former team mates with off-field advice and assistance with contract negotiation. This lead to Tom becoming a FIFA accredited Licensed Agent through the English Football Association and he now works with clubs, players and coaches throughout Europe, Australia, Middle East and South America.
Joseba Barandiaran - European Consultant
Based in San Sebastian in northern Spain, Joseba joined ISM following his previous roles as Sporting Academy Director and Head of Academy Recruitment at Real Sociedad.
As a player, Joseba came through the ranks at Antiguoko FC, the junior club famous for developing players such as Xabi Alonso and Mikel Arteta. Following spells in the Spanish third division, Joseba studied Fitness in Bilbao before working as a secondary school PE Teacher for ten years.
Joseba holds the Pro A Coaching License and speaks three languages fluently. Joseba is highly regarded amongst the Spanish and Basque football communities and is Adviser to the Gipuzkoa Counties Football Federation.
Kepa Rodriguez - Spanish Academy Consultant
Kepa works alongside Joseba Barandiaran. He is principally involved in the management of youth players and has several years experience in doing so.
Kepa has a very strong understanding of the game and is held in high regard throughout the Spanish youth system.
Dr Stephen McGregor - Sports Scientist
(BSc Hons, MSc [Sport Sci], MSc [Physio] PhD, MCSP, SRP, ASCC)
With a BSc and MSc degree in Sport Science, Stephen went onto earn a PhD in Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University. He has also completed an MSc in Physiotherapy and attained chartered physiotherapy status.
Stephen has over 13 years experience of working at the elite end of sport ranging from professional golf to Premiership football. Stephen has the academic understanding and practical experience to integrate all areas of sport science into effective support structures and programmes. This has been evident in his previous positions as Head of Sport Science at Premier League Football Clubs and now as Managing Director of Sport Science Solutions.
Stephen has developed a specific Player Performance Profile, unique to ISM's football clients which will ensure that players benefit from continous independent assessments of their health, fitness levels and well being on an ongoing basis, in conjuction with their club.
Floyd Woodrow MBE DCM - Performance Consultant
Floyd was one of the UK’s youngest soldiers to be selected for the elite Special Air Service at the age of 22. He has served in many different operational areas globally, and was awarded the UK’s second highest gallantry award for bravery and an MBE for his services whilst in Afghanistan.
Towards the later part of his career, he completed a law degree and has developed unique insight into areas of psychology whilst engaged in elite training methodologies and Leadership in Crisis. He has coached many blue chip companies and sports teams; enabling Olympic and world champion sports men and women to develop their ability to deliver under intense pressure.
Floyd is a trained hostage negotiator and has held a senior strategic role with the UKSF Counter Terrorism Wing. He is an international coach and brings a unique insight into understanding Leadership in a Crisis, concentrating on the human element. Floyd also speaks four languages.
Floyd runs Chrysalis Worldwide, a company specialising in elite leadership and personal development programmes for sports and business professionals. He has worked with domestic and international teams and individual players across a number of sports including football, cricket and golf.
